First Mobile URL Filtering Solution to Be OESISOK Certified
SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 17, 2009 – Blue Coat Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: BCSI), the
technology leader in Application Delivery Networking, today announced that the
Blue Coat® ProxyClient® software is the first mobile URL filtering solution to
be certified through the OESISOK certification program. OESISOK certification
verifies that ProxyClient software operates with an organization’s network
connectivity devices. Blue Coat ProxyClient software is the first client
solution to both extend the enforcement of corporate IT policies and the
acceleration of remote applications and file transfers to remote and mobile
enterprise users.
“The rapid growth of remote and mobile workers has made it critical that
enterprises have a strategy for securing distributed users and are confident
that their mobile protection is fully interoperable with network and security IT
policies,” said Dave Asprey, vice president of technology and corporate
development at Blue Coat Systems. “As the first mobile URL filtering solution to
receive OESISOK certification, businesses can deploy ProxyClient software to
protect mobile employees from Web-based malicious content with the confidence of
knowing that it will seamlessly interoperate within their existing network
framework.”
Blue Coat ProxyClient software enables businesses to consistently set and
enforce centrally managed corporate IT policies across the distributed
enterprise, including remote and mobile users. Additionally, ProxyClient users
are part of the Blue Coat WebPulse cloud service that provides a community watch
environment in which the discovery of malware by one user immediately protects
all users. WebPulse implements Dynamic Link Analysis to ensure that real-time
inputs from this community are thoroughly assessed using multiple analysis
tools. Updates based on the assessments are immediately shared with all members
of the community, without requiring downloads, to ensure proactive layers or
protection against Web-based malicious content.
OESISOK is an open industry-wide certification program that was established by
OPSWAT, a provider of endpoint security integration technologies, to provide
independent interoperability verification. The OESISOK certification program
required Blue Coat ProxyClient software to complete several phases of
installation and verification testing to ensure it is both functional and
interoperable with network devices. Upon completion of the testing, Blue Coat
ProxyClient software received OESISOK certification to confirm its
interoperability status.
“The OESISOK certification program eliminates guesswork by ensuring that
customers are using first-rate endpoint security solutions that are
interoperable with market leading security applications,” said Benny Czarny,
president and CEO of OPSWAT, Inc. “By getting their solution certified, vendors
can benefit from better visibility and increased demand for their solution.”
